Artist Statement:
This is an original song for all those who have come forward to tell their story, and weren’t believed. I wrote it with someone I care about in mind. She was injured when she did the very hard thing – she reported an assault and later was retaliated against. It caused her a lot of problems, but she is strong. Really strong and really wise.
We all share a basic need to tell our story and to be believed. That belief protects and heals us. It’s powerful. If we harvest it, we bring good to our society. If we deny it, well, then we all lose out.
