Artist Statement: It was my privilege to be welcomed by the members of the Chicana/o Studies mural painting workshop to document the creation of this mural for Cesar Chavez Intermediate. The UC Davis students told me their thoughts and feelings about creating this beautiful piece of art in collaboration with children, parents, and administrators at Cesar Chavez Intermediate. It was truly inspiring to see the mural come to life, and listen to the students’ excitement about what this would mean for the children receiving the mural.
