Artist Statement:
When usual day to day tasks feel too strenuous, I’ll pick up a black pen, pick a few colors, grab my sketchbook, blast some music, and start drawing. I’ll start with an eye, a mouth, a hand, a dot. I’ll make some mistakes and will try to fix those mistakes by covering them up with some more mistakes. More often than not, these layers of ink and watercolor materialize the innermost windings of my subconscious onto paper, and it’s as though my emotions guide my fingers into revealing a story to myself.
Each little abstract character represents an emotional state or the story of an evolving emotion. Over the years, drawing has thus progressed into a tool for both my personal self-expression and self-discovery.
